KMOP and the National Center for Social Solidarity Join Forces to Combat Human Trafficking

KMOP, in partnership with the National Centre for Social Solidarity and supported by the Office of the National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings (G.E.TH.EIS), organized two impactful one-day training sessions at Athens International Airport on November 19 and 21. These sessions aimed to enhance the ability of key professionals to identify and support victims of human trafficking in Greece.

Over 40 professionals, including check-in agents, departure and transit gate staff, security officers, and border control personnel, participated in the training. Through interactive presentations and hands-on activities, they gained valuable skills to recognize potential victims of trafficking and ensure timely referrals to appropriate services.

In particular, professionals were informed about critical topics, such as:

  • The definition of human trafficking and its various forms.
  • Vulnerability factors that increase the risk of victimization.
  • Indicators and signs of potential victimization.
  • Practical tips for communicating with potential victims.
  • Reporting procedures: Developing standardized protocols for airport employees.

This initiative is part of the collaboration between KMOP, SolidarityNow, and the National Centre for Social Solidarity to raise awareness and provide training for professionals in critical sectors. The goal is to create a protection network for human trafficking victims.
